The City of Hopkins has three volunteer boards or commissions to advise and assist the City Council on City policies, procedures, and operations. These commissions are comprised of volunteer citizens and an appointed staff member as a liaison.
The Charter Commission is responsible for recommending changes to the City Charter.
The Park Board advises the Council on operation of parks and recreation programs and facilities in the City.
The Planning and Zoning Commission is designed to serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council and administration and is empowered to perform certain quasi-judicial functions.
Hopkins needs volunteers in order to succeed. The various boards and commissions of the City of Hopkins perform a vital role in the life of our community. Many of the City's decisions, policies, and procedures were founded on recommendations from a board or commission.
We are not currently accepting applications for Boards & Commissions. Annual recruitment for vacant positions occurs in March - April of each year. Please check back then.
