Community is February 16

The Hopkins Activity Center is hosting a lunch and learn on race and diversity on Thursday, February 16, from 11 a.m. to noon. Facilitator Suzanne Bengston from Race & Coffee will encourage growth and community building. Space will be created to allow community members to discuss topics on race and identity, broaden perspectives and share knowledge. Registration is required to attend. Bus Route 17 Public Engagement

On Saturday, February 4, Metro Transit will begin a public engagement process to gather input and feedback on potential changes to the Route 17 local bus route. As part of their Better Bus Stops program, Metro Transit is seeking to improve rider experience by reducing stops, improving accessibility, and providing more shelters in order to make trips better, faster, and more reliable. Route 17 enters Hopkins at its western end and has eight stops located along Blake Road, Lake Street, Van Buren Avenue and Cambridge Street. One stop on Blake Road is proposed to be removed due to low average daily boardings and the presence of two other stops within 500 feet of the stop. Find more information and a link to an online survey on the Metro Transit website.
