HALLOWEEN IN HOPKINS IS OCTOBER 28

Break out your costumes a couple days early and head downtown for Halloween in Hopkins on Saturday, October 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring trick-or-treating along Mainstreet, a Haunted Jail Tour at the Hopkins Police Department, a dog costume contest, kids games and more. 

NATIONAL PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE BACK DAY IS OCTOBER 28

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is coming up on Saturday, October 28. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., dispose of unused medications at a drop-off location near you. Find your closest collection site. 

Buckthorn Removal Volunteer Opportunity 
is November 4

Join the City of Hopkins for a volunteer event to remove buckthorn and learn how to manage it on Saturday, November 4, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Shady Oak Pond (located at the intersection of 21st Avenue and 2nd Street N). Buckthorn is an invasive shrub that outcompetes native plants and takes over forest floors, preventing other plant regeneration. This invasive species has become an increasingly large problem in the Midwest and management is key for the health of our city’s environment. Learn more about buckthorn and sign-up to volunteer.

Save the Date: Turkey Bingo with the Hopkins Police Department is November 12

The Hopkins Police Department is hosting Turkey Bingo on Sunday, November 12, at 1 p.m., at the Hopkins Activity Center. For $20, play 10 games for the chance to win amazing prizes. Local business gift card raffles will be held between games. Refreshments will be available for purchase. The 18+ event is cash only. All proceeds will go to HPD Cops N Community programs.
