Wireless Emergency Alerts Testing is April 24
On Wednesday, April 24, Hennepin County Emergency Management will be testing the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) system. WEA is a public safety system that allows customers who own compatible mobile devices to receive geographically targeted, text-like messages alerting them of imminent threats to safety in their area. The WEA test will commence at noon on April 24. Residents that have their phones set for these alerts will receive an alert on that day.
