Free Holiday Tree Pick-Up is Week of January 13

Holiday trees will be picked up curbside, free of charge for Hopkins residential garbage customers the week of January 13. Trees will be picked up on your garbage day, subject to change due to the weather. Lay trees in the boulevard, parallel with the street, and at least five feet from overhead wires, trees, fences, garbage carts and parked cars. Trees must be free of all ornaments, plastic bags and metal. You do not need to call to schedule this service.

Save the Date: State of the City is January 30

The 2025 State of the City returns to the Hopkins Center for the Arts on Thursday, January 30. A reception will be held from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a presentation in the theater. The State of the City event offers community members and business owners the opportunity to learn more about the workings of the City in a relaxed setting. Keep an eye out for more information in the coming weeks.

Rate Increases Now In Effect

In order to cover current operating costs and adequately fund capital projects, the City Council adopted rate increases for water, sanitary sewer, refuse, recycling and organics recycling. The new refuse, recycling and organic recycling rates will first appear on the utility bills received in January. Water and sanitary sewer rates will first appear on the bill received in February. Storm sewer fees remain the same. View the rate increases on the City of Hopkins website.
