Hydrant Flushing Begins April 7

Don't be alarmed if your water is discolored: Hopkins Public Works utility crews will be flushing fire hydrants throughout the community April 7-25. Residents are cautioned against doing laundry - particularly whites - while crews are in the neighborhood.

Hydrant Flushing Schedule:

  • April 7-11: Hydrants north of Excelsior Boulevard and west of Highway 169
  • April 14-18: Hydrants south of Excelsior Boulevard and west of Highway 169
  • April 21-25: Hydrants east of Highway 169

If water is still discolored once crews leave, residents should run the cold water until it runs clear. Find more information about hydrant flushing.

Free Brush Pick-Up is April 7-17

The City will be picking up brush free of charge for residential garbage customers the same day as your garbage day April 7-17. No call-in is required for the free pick-up. Find more information about brush pick-up.
