Facade Improvement Program

The City of Hopkins periodically offers funding opportunities to downtown businesses for façade improvements. Eligible property owners, or business owners, may apply for funding assistance up to 50 percent of the cost of improvements — up to $25,000.

Purpose

The City of Hopkins is looking to strengthen the vitality of Mainstreet by improving the pedestrian experience, increasing building transparency, and beautifying buildings through façade revitalization efforts, which will have a lasting impact on downtown Hopkins. This program provides property and business owners with technical and financial assistance to help improve commercial building facades.

Funding for the 2026 Facade Improvement Program is supported by Hennepin County's Love Local Storefront grant funding.

Who Can Apply?

Commercial property owners, or business owners with the approval of property owner, located within Downtown Hopkins between 5th Avenue and Shady Oak Road and between 1st Street N and 1st Street S are eligible to apply, assuming the property has no delinquent bills, charges, or taxes due to the city.

Full details and requirements can be found in the Facade Improvement Program Guidelines.
